Season it Yourself Chili

There is nothing better than a good warm bowl of homemade chili. In the last few years I have taken it upon myself to learn my Mexican spices. I have learned that making your own seasonings for chili really isn't hard and the results are well worth the cost of buying the seasonings to have around. I have had "packet" chili to many times and what I love about this is it tastes authentic and delicious.

Prep time: 10 mins Cook time: 30 mins Serves 4-6

Ingredients:
2 cans organic kidney beans
2 cans organic diced tomatoes
1/2 lb browned organic ground angus beef or meat alt or none
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp oregano
1 tbls cumin
1 tsp black pepper
2 tbls chili powder
1tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 diced onion
1 bell pepper diced

Extra Toppings to put on chili if you so choose:
Diced tomatoes
Tapatio
Sour cream
Avocado slices
Cheddar Cheese
Corn chips or corn bread

Directions:
1) Start browning ground beef or alt., onion, and bell peppers with seasonings
2) Start beans and tomatoes in large pot
3) Add cooked meat tomatoes and beans and let cook at medium for 30 mins
4) Lower heat to low, taste... add more seasonings to your liking
5) Serve up with avocado, cheddar cheese, sour cream, chips and tapatio!
